ETF Reserve Growth Drives Blackrock IBIT Near 600,000 BTC
U.S. spot bitcoins ETFs have generated $38.43 billion in flows since Jan. 11, 2024, with last week’s addition adding $3.06 billion, according to sosovalue.com. Blackrock’s IBIT earned $240 million Friday, boosting its reserves. According to Blackrock’s webpage, IBIT had 588,686.91 BTC on April 27, 2025, worth $55.3 million based on Sunday’s bitcoin pricing.
IBIT controls 2.97% of the 19.85 million BTC in circulation. On Sunday, April 27, Fidelity’s FBTC has 199,684.83 BTC worth $18.76 billion, while Grayscale’s GBTC holds 191,190.971 BTC worth $17.9 billion. The only ETFs with above 100,000 BTC are these three, managing 979,562.711 BTC worth $92 billion. IBIT, FBTC, and the GBTC own 4.93% of bitcoin.
Only three other funds have more than 35,000 BTC, including Ark Invest’s ARKB with 52,604 BTC. As of April 27, Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust has 42,079.29 BTC and Bitwise’s BITB 39,020.06 BTC. The trio has 133,703.35 BTC, worth $12.5 billion, or 0.67% of the 19.85 million supply. Six more funds—HODL, BRRR, BTCO, EZBC, BTCW, and DEFI—hold 32,646.156 BTC, worth slightly over $3 billion at current exchange rates.
As of April 27, U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs held 1,145,912.217 BTC, worth $107.70 billion. This hoard represents 5.77% of the 19.85 million BTC in circulation. When multinational ETFs and public and private company holdings are included, long-term bitcoin storage increases significantly.
